dunno what genre we are, we just play what we think sounds good.
our music derives mainly from ozzy era sabbath but with extra dark psychadelic influences and of course black metal. hopefully this will actually sound good and not like a bag of assorted turds in a bag being shaken up and down.

anyways, so far as progress we have one track in the making 'feral child' which is a kind of doomy track and is repetative in a sort of ambient way. the lyrics are about mowgli syndrome (big surprise there eh>) particularly about a child that has been raised by wolves (obvious choice but would you really want to hear a song about a kid raised by badgers?).

the band is comprised of myself (bass and vocals)and a friend of mine by the name of john halos(guitar).
the drums will most likely be done by another friend of mine or with drummey softwareness.

we don't have a myspace, and at the moment don't plan to have one because i am a lazy bastard (in fact i should get a medal for all this).

Ok listen up. You can get guitar pro off pretty much any torrent website, I'll link you if you need me to. It''s an incredibly simple program, there's no technical shit where you fiddle with pitch and electronic stuff. All you do is select an instrument (and there are loads, not just guitars, though the guitars sound best), and start tabbing. As long as you know how tabs work, you know how guitar pro works. There is also percussion, and with percussion, fret numbers correspond to different drums (there's a list which shows you).

Now get it!

I had many tabs from many songs and then I would check how the numbers were placed and then with a lot of practice I learned :p

Yaaay, go Anti! KK listen up. At the bottom there are tracks, and each plays a different instrument. By clicking on where it tells u what instrument you're on it will bring up a selection of instruments to change to. In terms of adding new tracks, just fiddle witht he menu bars at the top (file edit etc) and there will be an add track option. All thaty is pretty self explanatory when you do it. In terms of writing your music, just play it on your guitar, then tab down what you played. If you wan tto change the tuning of your instruments, click onw here it says track 1 (or track 2 or whichever track you want to change) and it will bring up a menu for you to do that.

Try this:

Open a drum track set the timing to one crotchet, then simply type in, from left to right: 36, 55, 40, 55.

Right there you've pretty much got a standard BM beat that will fit most of your music.

My music is currently focused on various forms of anger, and other emotions associated with it. It's probably due to some deep-seated frustration with how shit the entirety of our existence is. Anyway, that explains the pseudo-punk drumming and insanely violent riffage which I'm doing more and more.

i recorded me playing guitar on the new track today, i left the comfort of playing bass and tried my hand.....its not too bad considering i rarely pick up a guitar.
i just need to make a full recording with bass and drums and vocals.
its just a basic demo with me playing guitar instead of the actual guitarist and its pretty messy but anyone who wants to hear it just to check out the general layout of the track is welcome.
but do remember it will sound alot better than this when my friend john plays it instead of me and i do bass.

man, great riffs, very dark and desolate. im guessing this is somewhat of an ambient track?
if it is, its nearly perfect, but it it needs a little extra done to it. like some sound effects, distortion, some synth in the background and a bit of reverb couldnt hurt ether.
still this has the makings of a great track.

cheers mate, yeah its ambient decided to move away from doom a little but there is a trace of sludge in it. no its nowhere near finished about 60% of it was improvised as i recorded it so its probably gonna be expanded somewhat before its done, also im going to take out some parts which i didnt like.
as for effects i will add them on the proper recording but for that demo i just pluged it straight in my laptop and played it clean.

Wow, this is.... creepy. I like it. The only problem, as far as I can, is a bit of sloppiness in the playing (that's fine, this is Black Metal), and your guitar was a little out of tune. Other than that, I really like it. Back to basics Bathorean Black Metal, add a bit of drone, turn the "creep" factor up to three bajillion... Really good.

Thanks for the send, I gave it a listen. Pretty raw and basic as of yet, and of course the playing is pretty sloppy, but there's some definite promise to your sound. Solitude was very creepy and discordant, and I actually thought its minimalism accentuated the underlying "hooks", for lack of a better term.

I'm looking forward to hearing how your music will sound with guitars, bass and (hopefully) percussion.

hey everyone, ive been thinking about it alot today and i have decided to take a break from metal throne to work on atomic tide.
im finding it difficult to find time to record or write anything because i am at work 5 days a week for eight hours besides being in two other bands (one of which is currently doing a few local gigs so there goes more time right there).
there is no way in hell i am quitting any of my projects for the gain of another as i am fond of all of them in equal measure, taking break from this place is the logical step forward.

really the only spare time i get during the day is spent on the internet ebay/porn/this place but if i can take a break from all that(except the porn i am a man) i will free about 15 hours more a week to work on atomic tide.
i just kind of realised that without setting time aside to do it im not getting alot done and i dont want to keep letting all of you guys down, at the rate im going ill spend months making one mediocre track and thst is below my standard.
its still going to take me a while to get sorted but hopefully after a month without distraction i can complete a demo and sleep easy. thanks guys!

p.s. i will be hanging around until the end of this week just to tie up any loose ends but whilst im on metal throne vacation (starting friday probably)those with my email can contact me via that if theres any osn related kvlt gossip.

I'm holidaying it up in the countryside (I've just come back from Devon to London, then I'm off to Dorset tomorrow), which means no internet, pretty much. I'm coming up with some fantastic music, although I'm not writing anything down - I can remember almost all of it. Acoustic guitars FTW.
